MELBOURNE CUP DAY 2008





SATURDAY 25 OCTOBER
2008 - FINAL ROUND KATOOMBA TYRES CUP AND SHOOTOUT
Members competed for the Katoomba
Tyres cup over the previous three weeks with the winners in each
division competing in a shootout for the nearest the pin on the
tenth green from 50m.

again sponsored the Wentworth Falls Open. Over 150 players competed for some
great prizes including a plasma TV and a golfing holiday to Kangaroo Valley Golf

Junior Gala Day a
great success
Junior golf at
Wentworth Falls Country Club is going from strength to strength with the
Jack Newton Junior Golf Foundation conducting a development program for
Wentworth Falls Country Club at Wentworth Falls, Lawson, Leura and
Hazelbrook Public Schools for 250 year 6 students. The Jack Newton
development program will culminate with a Gala Day on Friday 15th August
attended by 40 primary school students. These students will received
expert instruction from Jack Newton Junior Golf Foundation Development
Officer, Khan Pullen and Professional, Kasey Henshaw, with the support
of our Club Professional, Dale Burnett, as well as a number of our club
members. The day long program includes 4 activity stations putting,
chipping, general swing, and playing 2 shortened holes.

Charity Day
Every year the NSW Fire
Brigade holds a charity golf day from which all funds raised go to the Burns
Unit at the Children's Hospital at Westmead. Over 120 players enjoyed a great
day with some wonderful prizes and over $5,000 was raised.
